About The Founder
Shawndolyn Hampton

Born and raised in the small, southern town of Douglas, GA, Shawndolyn’s career in healthcare began as an MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician) shortly after joining the United States Air Force in 1999. After separating in 2005, and for the next ten years, she continued her service to others by performing clinical testing necessary to assist nurses and physicians in detecting the presence or absence of disease. To assist in furthering her career, in 2016,
she graduated with a bachelor’s degree and passed the board exam, earning the title MLS/CLS (Medical/Clinical Laboratory Scientist).
Often called hidden heroes in this challenging, rewarding, exciting, and dynamic profession, the laboratory is often overlooked, overworked, under-appreciated, underpaid, and short-staffed. The critical and growing shortage in the clinical laboratory workforce was further significantly challenged with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Having first-hand knowledge of what it takes to operate a lab effectively and efficiently, and in an effort to narrow the gap between facility demands and desires of skilled laboratorians, Shawndolyn conceived Nomad Scientist Solutions.
